Teaching a child how to read is a crucial part of their education and a major concern for homeschooling families. Strong reading skills are important not just in English class, but in every subject area. Even when you are studying history or biology, good reading and comprehension skills are critical. During the day, homeschooling parents need to create a balance between the different subjects they teach, but reading does not need to be confined to school hours.
